Lagos Seals Over 20 Properties in Ikeja for Violations

The Lagos State Government has sealed more than 20 properties in the Ikeja Local Government Area due to alleged violations of the state's physical planning regulations. This enforcement operation was conducted by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) as part of ongoing efforts to address illegal developments and ensure adherence to approved planning standards.

The affected properties include vacant plots, unfinished buildings, and those with unauthorized structural extensions. The operation was led by Olayinka Wasiu, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Physical Planning, alongside Kehinde Osinaike, the General Manager of LASPPPA, and other senior officials.

The government stated that this initiative aligns with its broader campaign to regulate physical development and protect land designated for public infrastructure. Wasiu emphasized the importance of compliance with the Lagos State Physical Planning Law to prevent building collapses and promote orderly urban development.

He also noted that contravention notices had been issued to property owners prior to enforcement.
