Lagos State Targets 2027 for Clean Water Access

The Lagos State Government, represented by Tokunbo Wahab, announced a strategic initiative to bridge the water supply gap in the state, enhancing public access to clean and safe water. This announcement was made during the World Water Day observance on March 22, which aims to raise awareness about the vital role of freshwater in sustaining life.

Wahab emphasized the importance of ensuring that everyone has access to clean water and highlighted the need for better water management practices. The state has set a target for 2027, aiming for every home to have access to clean water.

The government plans to rehabilitate existing waterworks, invest in new infrastructure, and explore partnerships to bring expertise and funding to achieve these goals. Additionally, the initiative seeks to reduce reliance on private boreholes and promote water conservation.
