Lagos Government Confirms Adding Baba Ijesha to Sex Offenders Register Post-Prison Release

The Lagos State government has officially placed Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, on the sex offenders register following his release from prison for sexually assaulting a minor in 2021. The Attorney General of Lagos State, Lawal Pedro, denounced false reports claiming Baba Ijesha's charges were cleared and warned against misinformation by actor Yomi Fabiyi.

The government emphasized that Baba Ijesha's conviction remains valid. Nollywood actress Damilola Adekoya, also known as Princess, appealed for ensuring Baba Ijesha's name is added to the register during a live Instagram session.

This action aligns with efforts to protect minors and provide accurate information to the public.
