Lagos Government Denies Resumption of Sanitation Exercise

The Lagos State Government has officially denied the resumption of its monthly sanitation exercise, which has garnered significant public interest due to concerns over waste management and blocked drains. Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, emphasized that there has been no official announcement regarding the start date of the sanitation exercise.

He noted that consultations with relevant stakeholders are ongoing to establish an appropriate schedule for the exercise. Although a sensitization program was planned to begin last week, it has been delayed due to logistical challenges.

Wahab assured that an official date for the resumption of the sanitation program will be announced by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu once the final consultations are completed. He urged Lagos residents to continue their daily activities without disruption and assured that ample notice will be provided ahead of the program's resumption.
