Lagos Govt Shuts Down Ojota Chemical Factories Over Safety Violations

The Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC) has sealed several chemical factories and shops in the Ojota area for violating safety and environmental regulations. The enforcement operation, led by Mr.

Lanre Mojola in line with the Lagos State Safety Commission Law 2011, was a response to repeated breaches of safety measures by the operators despite warnings. The affected facilities were shut down for failing to comply with agreed safety protocols, including conducting safety audits and equipping shops with fire extinguishers.

The crackdown underscores the government's commitment to ensuring compliance with safety standards and protecting the environment from potential hazards posed by non-compliant chemical facilities.
