Lagos State Safety Commission Shuts Down Chemical Factories in Ojota Over Safety Breaches

The Lagos State Safety Commission (LSC) has shut down multiple chemical factories in Ojota for violating safety and environmental regulations. The enforcement exercise, led by Lanre Mojola, followed repeated warnings to operators who failed to comply with safety measures.

Despite a grace period, the facilities were sealed as operators did not implement agreed safety measures, including conducting safety audits and providing fire extinguishers. The affected operators had earlier agreed to comply but failed to do so.

This action aims to ensure the safety of workers and the community in line with the Lagos State Safety Commission Law 2011.
