Hamzat Declared Unopposed APC Candidate for Lagos 2027

On Thursday, Obafemi Hamzat emerged as the unopposed candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Lagos State governorship race for 2027. The primary election took place in Agege, where Hamzat, the current Deputy Governor of Lagos State, won with a total of 14,053 votes.

The election was conducted at the Agege Stadium, and he was the sole aspirant for the position. The process was affirmed by members of the party, with Debola Ladigbolu serving as the APC's Assistant Legal Adviser.

Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, commended the members of the constituency for their peaceful and orderly participation in the primary election. He also acknowledged the leadership and members of the APC in Agege for their significant turnout and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and coexistence among residents.

The council chairmen are expected to embark on massive poverty alleviation programs as part of their responsibilities.
