LAWMA Enhances Safety Training for Lagos Highway Sweepers

The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) announced on Saturday that it conducted a health and safety training exercise for highway sweepers to enhance their skills and efficiency. The training, led by Mukaila Sanusi, Director of Public Affairs at LAWMA, focused on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, and safety boots, to ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, stated that the training took place along the Ikate Elegushi corridor of the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen safety protocols and ensure that highway sweepers are adequately equipped and trained to carry out their duties in a safe and professional manner. Gbadegesin emphasized LAWMA's commitment to maintaining high operational standards and prioritizing the health and safety of personnel responsible for keeping Lagos roads clean.
