Lagos Innovates to Train 1,200 Tech Talents and 10,000 in AI

Lagos Innovates, an initiative of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, has supported over 1,200 startups and trained more than 3,000 technology talents since its establishment in 2018. The initiative aims to target another 1,200 technology talents through a new training programme that focuses on seven high-demand skills.
Olanike Aladeojebi, Head of Startups at Lagos Innovates, shared these figures during the GrowthX event organized by Techeconomy in Lagos. The initiative seeks to lower the costs for individuals entering the technology ecosystem and provide support for early-stage businesses.
It identifies startups at the idea and prototype stages, offering workspace vouchers and an incubation programme. Additionally, the EkoAI Academy aims to train 10,000 young people in practical artificial intelligence skills through a collaboration with InnoPower Africa.
This programme will utilize a train-the-trainer model, starting with 100 master trainers who will educate other participants.
