Lagos Lawmaker Defects from Labour Party to ADC for Better Constituency Service

Lagos State House of Assembly member, Foluke Osafile, representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 01, has officially defected from the Labour Party to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Osafile, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Wealth Creation, confirmed her defection, citing the need to serve the interests of her constituency and ensure a brighter future.

She pledged full commitment to working with ADC leaders and stakeholders to advance the cause of good governance and effective representation. Osafile emphasized the importance of strengthening democratic institutions to ensure the voices of ordinary Nigerians are heard.

She reaffirmed her loyalty to her constituents and promised to work towards a better and more secure future for them. Osafile is expected to make a formal announcement of her defection during plenary sessions.

She was elected to the Lagos State Assembly in 2023 on the platform of the Labour Party, defeating her opponents with a wide margin. Despite initial legal challenges favoring the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osafile successfully reclaimed her seat through a court appeal, bringing an end to the legal battle.
