Lagos Deputy Governor to Address Creator Economy at PodFest

The Lagos State Government is enhancing its involvement in Nigeria's burgeoning creator economy, with Deputy Governor Dr Obafemi Hamzat set to deliver the keynote address at PodFest Naija 2026 on September 25 at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos. Hamzat will discuss the intersection of creativity, technology, culture, and the future of Lagos, emphasizing the importance of the creative sector in shaping information consumption and entertainment in Nigeria.

The festival aims to unite prominent figures in media, entertainment, and digital storytelling, including Funke Akindele and Aproko Doctor, among others. Activities will include live podcasts, masterclasses, and discussions on storytelling as a business.

Tosin Adefeko, Curator of PodFest Naija and CEO of AT3 Resources, highlighted the significance of government engagement in fostering sustainable businesses within the creative ecosystem, asserting that Lagos is a cultural hub that exports various forms of entertainment and storytelling globally.
