NDLEA Uncovers Cocaine in Palm Kernel Oil Cans in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) conducted a significant operation in Lagos, uncovering a major drug trafficking syndicate. The operation, which spanned three weeks, began on March 11, 2026, when NDLEA officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport intercepted 3.10 kilograms of cocaine concealed in palm kernel oil cans.

Two suspects, Idri Olayiwola Amoo and Akinlami Akinsoji Adedoyin, were arrested in connection with the shipment. A subsequent sting operation on April 2 led to the arrest of the sender, Ezemuwo Joel.

The agency later apprehended the syndicate's leader, a 52-year-old known as Arinz, at his hideout in Isolo, Lagos, where they recovered 886 tins prepared for drug concealment and 52 grams of cannabis material. Additionally, Aisha Adamu, 28, was arrested in Borno State with 4.3 kilograms of synthetic cannabis.

Other arrests included a pastor and various suspects across multiple states, resulting in significant drug seizures.
