NDLEA Seizes 2.80kg Cocaine at Lagos Airport

On April 9, 2026, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted a shipment of cocaine weighing 2.80 kilograms, which was concealed in food flasks at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The drugs were bound for the United Kingdom via a Virgin Atlantic flight.

The operation, led by the NDLEA's export shed at the airport, resulted in the arrest of two cargo agents, Ama Ufeim, aged 33, and Ogabi Mondai, aged 39. Further investigations identified a 52-year-old freight forwarder, Agoro Tajudeen Moninuola, as the sender of the consignment, who was also arrested following the operation.

The NDLEA's spokesman, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the details of the seizure and the subsequent arrests in a statement released on Sunday.
