Lagos NLC Calls for ₦150,000 Minimum Wage Amid State Wage Increases

The Lagos NLC is demanding a ₦150,000 minimum wage for workers, citing the need to meet the economic reality faced by workers in the state. This demand follows recent wage increases in Imo and Ebonyi states.

The Lagos NLC Chairperson emphasized that the current minimum wage in the state no longer aligns with the cost of living. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and the Ebonyi State Government have recently raised their minimum wages.

The NLC expressed optimism that Lagos should not be left behind due to its higher cost of living. The move aims to ensure workers can afford accommodation, transport, feeding, and utilities.
