Ondo Workers Demand Minimum Wage Review Amid Economic Challenges

Workers in Ondo State are demanding an immediate review of the minimum wage to N256,950 due to the challenging economic conditions. The workers, through the NLC, highlighted the rising cost of living, removal of fuel subsidy, and inflation as reasons for the wage increase request.

They urged Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to constitute a negotiation committee promptly. The workers emphasized that despite Ondo State's oil wealth, the current wage is insufficient.

They also called for an upward review of pensions for retirees in the state. The workers stressed the need for Ondo State to lead by example in setting progressive standards for workers' welfare.
