Lagos Partners Lumi to Enhance Road Safety Education

The Lagos State Government partnered with Lumi to promote road safety awareness among schoolchildren at St. Saviour's School in Ikoyi.

The initiative featured storytelling and interactive learning sessions designed to teach children safe road practices and responsible travel behavior. Pelumi Nubi, the founder of Lumi and Lagos State tourism ambassador, shared her journey of driving solo from London to Lagos, emphasizing lessons of safety, courage, and resilience.

The event introduced children to Lagos's evolving transport network, including the red and blue rail lines and ferry services, to better understand the state's transport infrastructure. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, a transport official, stressed the importance of early road safety education to cultivate responsible road users.

The program aimed to build civic responsibility among young people and called for stronger collaboration between government agencies, schools, and private organizations to effectively deliver road safety messages. Students, including Nimi Popoola and Tavenilo Dania, expressed how Nubi's story inspired them to pursue their dreams despite challenges.
