Lagos Police Launches NPD 2026 with Health Outreach

On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command officially flagged off activities to mark the 2026 National Police Day with a statewide sanitation exercise. This initiative, led by Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai, aims to deepen community engagement and reinforce public trust in the police.

The activities featured coordinated environmental sanitation exercises across fourteen area commands to promote cleaner and healthier communities. Simultaneously, a comprehensive medical outreach was held at Computer Village, one of Lagos's busiest commercial hubs, benefiting traders and passersby with a wide range of free healthcare services.

These services included medical check-ups, health education, counseling, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, screening for Hepatitis B and C, retroviral infections, eye examinations, and the distribution of essential medications. This initiative underscores the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force not only to maintain law and order but also to contribute to public health and environmental sustainability, bringing healthcare services closer to the people amidst rising healthcare costs.
