Lagos Police Detain Officers Over Alleged Assault on Actor Ijoba Lande

The Lagos State Police Command has detained officers over the alleged assault on popular actor and skit maker, Ganiyu Morufu, widely known as Ijoba Lande. The incident, which was confirmed through a post shared on social media, involved the actor being assaulted and robbed.

In a video circulating on social media, Ijoba Lande is seen with visible injuries, including bleeding on the left side of his face. The actor, who was speaking Yoruba in the video, was repeatedly asking for water and appeared distressed.

The video also captured bystanders attempting to console him and suggesting going to the police station to file a formal report. The caption accompanying the video alleged that the actor was robbed of an iPhone 16 Pro Max and £1,200 in cash belonging to his brother, who had recently returned to the UK.

The Lagos State Police Command has assured the public that the matter will be treated seriously, and appropriate action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
