Driver Remanded After Clash with Lagos Task Force

The Lagos State Police Command provided details regarding a viral video involving a driver, Lateef Adeyemo, who was remanded following a confrontation with the Lagos State Task Force during a traffic enforcement operation on the Mile 12 corridor. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning around 6:30 AM when officers attempted to intercept Adeyemo for making a wrong turn and driving against traffic, violating Lagos State road traffic regulations.

In an attempt to evade arrest, he reportedly reversed his vehicle, damaging a commercial minibus and putting other road users at risk. The situation escalated as Adeyemo allegedly incited bystanders, leading to a brief mob attack on the task force personnel, during which stones were thrown.

Adeyemo was later identified and arraigned at a mobile court in Oshodi on five counts, including conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and malicious damage. The police reminded motorists of the prohibition against driving against traffic as per the Lagos State Road Traffic Law of 2018.
