Lagos Police Enhance School Security Amid Kidnap Threats

The Lagos State Police Command has heightened security in response to threats of school abductions that have raised concerns among parents and residents. According to a statement by Abimbola Adebisi, the command's public relations officer, preliminary assessments revealed no verified intelligence indicating an imminent attack.

In light of these concerns, Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai has ordered an immediate review of security protocols and the deployment of additional personnel to strategically vulnerable locations within the state. The command reassured parents, guardians, and school authorities that there is currently no verified intelligence suggesting an imminent threat.

Adebisi emphasized the collaboration with other security agencies to prevent criminal elements from infiltrating the state and threatening public safety. The command also warned that kidnapping and banditry will not be tolerated in Lagos and urged residents to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

This development comes amid growing vigilance among security agencies due to recent incidents of school attacks and kidnappings across the country.
