Lagos Police Enhance Security Amid School Kidnap Threat

The Lagos State Police Command has intensified security across the state following a circulated threat notice alleging a plan by bandits to abduct schoolchildren. This notice, reportedly posted within school environments, has raised concerns among parents and residents, sparking fears of a possible kidnapping attempt targeting educational institutions.

However, preliminary investigations by the command revealed no credible or verified intelligence suggesting an imminent attack. In response, Police Commissioner Tijani Fatai ordered an immediate security review and the deployment of additional officers to schools in strategic locations and vulnerable communities.

Abimbola Adebisi, the command's public relations officer, reassured parents and guardians that there is no verified intelligence indicating an imminent threat. The police are collaborating with security agencies to prevent any criminal elements from disrupting public peace.

The command has warned that kidnapping bandits will not be allowed to operate in Lagos and urged residents to report any suspicious movements to the nearest police station or emergency hotline.
