Lagos Probes Viral Video of Students Smoking and Drinking in Dormitory, Ensures Discipline

Authorities in Lagos are investigating a viral video showing students suspected to be from Excel College, Ejigbo, smoking and drinking alcohol in a dormitory. The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has launched a probe to authenticate the video, identify the students involved, and assess the school's supervision level.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Tolani, described the incident as unacceptable and contrary to the state's educational values. The government assured the public of upholding discipline in schools and ensuring a safe learning environment.

This investigation aims to address the misconduct and hold accountable any institution failing in its oversight duties.
