Lagos State Advances Circular Economy for Sustainable Growth

Lagos State is making concerted efforts to adopt a circular economy, aiming to transform Nigeria's economic landscape, as declared by Titi Oshodi, the Special Advisor to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy. During the launch of the Circular Economy Fund (CEF), Oshodi emphasized that the circular economy is no longer just a concept but a reality in Lagos.

The event marked a significant milestone in Nigeria's journey towards sustainable development, highlighting the importance of a data-driven approach to achieve circular economy goals. Oshodi noted that various states, including Abia, Anambra, Ogun, and Kano, are making notable progress in this area.

Michael Ugbodu from Intens Group echoed the sentiment that circular economy practices support job creation and business efficiency. Olawal Adebiyi, CEO of WeCycl, shared insights on empowering communities through recycling and creating value from waste.

Joshua Adedeji emphasized the need for a mindset shift and access to finance to drive the circular economy forward.
