Lagos Residents Protest Demolition, Seek Sanwo-Olu's Intervention

Residents of Jakande Estate in Ilesan, Lagos State staged a peaceful protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly, urging Governor Sanwo-Olu to intervene in a demolition dispute. The residents, led by Alhaji Abdulhame Shuaib, are demanding fair compensation for their homes, which are facing demolition.

The conflict began in 2025 when residents were offered inadequate compensation for their properties. Despite obtaining a court injunction, the demolitions continued, leading to arrests and ongoing legal battles.

The residents seek transparency and justice in resolving the matter.
