Lagos Seals Dominion Pizza for Sewage Discharge Violations

The Lagos State Government has sealed off Dominion Pizza located in the Lekki area over allegations of discharging untreated sewage into public drainage channels. This enforcement action was carried out by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) following complaints lodged by residents.

An investigation led by Tokunbo Wahab, the Environmental Commissioner, revealed that the restaurant's septic system was improperly discharging wastewater due to an overflow of its septic tank. This situation has resulted in environmental pollution and foul odors, posing potential health risks to residents and the public in the area.

Wahab explained that this enforcement action is part of the state's ongoing environmental compliance drive aimed at strengthening sanitation standards and ensuring adherence to wastewater management regulations across Lagos. The government reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards environmental infractions and warned that individuals or organizations found guilty of breaching sanitation laws may face appropriate sanctions, including possible prosecution.
