Lagos Seals Domino’s Pizza for Sewage Discharge Violations

The Lagos State government has sealed off a Domino’s Pizza outlet located at No 38B Freedom Lekki, Eti Osa, due to violations related to the indiscriminate discharge of untreated sewage. This action was disclosed by Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, following complaints from residents and subsequent investigations by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO).

The outlet was found to be discharging untreated sewage into public drains due to an overfilled septic tank, creating environmental nuisances and emitting offensive odors that pose health risks to the surrounding community. The Lagos State government has reiterated the importance of proper wastewater management practices and warned that individuals or organizations found violating environmental regulations will face appropriate sanctions, including possible prosecution.

The enforcement action is part of an ongoing drive by the Lagos State government to combat illegal sewage discharges, particularly in densely populated residential and commercial areas like Lekki.
