Lagos Seals Estates Over Untreated Sewage Discharge

On May 7, 2026, the Lagos State government, through the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office, sealed off Pinnock Beach Estate located in Osapa London, Lekki, along with three other properties. This enforcement action was announced by Tokunbo Wahab, who stated that the properties were sealed due to repeated violations of wastewater management regulations, specifically the deliberate discharge of untreated sewage into public drains.

The sewage discharge was reported to cause environmental nuisances, including offensive odors that endanger human health and aquatic life. The other properties sealed include those on Oladipo Dumoy Street in Mashi Hill Estate, Ado Road in Ajah, and Vintage Height Estate on Ojulari Street in Elegushi, Lekki.

The Lagos State government has warned residents and property managers to adhere strictly to proper wastewater management practices, stating that individuals or organizations found in violation will face appropriate sanctions.
