Obasa Denies Funding APC Primary Election Protests

Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, addressed allegations regarding his supposed financial support for protesters opposing the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections. He categorically dismissed these claims, stating that there is no connection between him and the protests, which occurred at the APC state secretariat on Tuesday.

The protests involved members from several local government areas, including Badagry, Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, Eti Osa, Somolu, and Ajeromi-Ifelodun, who accused party leaders of manipulating the primary election outcomes. Obasa emphasized that he has no reason to sponsor such protests and described the rumors as baseless and designed to create unnecessary tension within the party.

He urged party members to refrain from dragging his name into controversies surrounding the primary elections, asserting that any assumptions about his involvement are misleading.
