Lagos State Sports Commission Partners with British Cycling for Cyclist Training Ahead of 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Lagos State Sports Commission has entered a strategic partnership with the British Cycling Association to enhance its global sports agenda. Nigerian cyclists will undergo training in Manchester for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.

Delegations from both entities engaged in high-level discussions to facilitate knowledge exchange and skill transfer. The collaboration aims to strengthen cycling development in Lagos State through technical capacity building and adopting global best practices.

Lekan Fatodu, the Director-General of LSSC, emphasized the partnership's result-oriented nature within the state's broader sports development strategy. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commended the conducive environment created for such initiatives.

The agreement underscores Lagos' growing reputation as a progressive force in African sports, marking a significant step towards achieving international cycling standards.
