Team Nigeria to Train in Scotland for 2026 Commonwealth Games Preparation

Team Nigeria, under the Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC), is set to participate in a four-week residential training camp in Scotland to prepare for the 2026 Commonwealth Games scheduled to take place in Glasgow. The NSC Director General, Bukola Olopade, confirmed the team's participation, emphasizing the benefits of early arrival to help athletes acclimatize and train under similar conditions.

Dr. Kehinde Ajayi, an NSC director, highlighted the strategic decision to base the training camp in Aberdeen to improve coordination and minimize travel-related issues.

The training camp aims to enhance technical preparation, team bonding, and acclimatization ahead of the Games. The NSC is working on securing accommodations and ensuring a smooth transition for the team to compete at their peak performance level.
