Lagos State Launches Digital Platform for Permit Approvals

Lagos State has introduced a digital platform designed to streamline the planning permit approval process, as announced during a stakeholders' sensitization program in Ikeja. Mr.

Olabod Agoro, head of the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, described the initiative as a significant milestone in the state's commitment to digital governance and improved public service delivery. The platform will allow real-time tracking of applications, ensuring compliance with established procedures and promoting transparency.

Dr. Oluyinka Olumid emphasized that the new system replaces the traditional manual process, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.

Mr. Wasiu Olayinka highlighted the platform's role in addressing recurring complaints from stakeholders and reducing administrative bottlenecks.

Omotayo Awomosu, former chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, called the platform a game changer for urban development in Nigeria. The initiative is expected to significantly reduce processing times and align with global best practices in physical planning and urban development.
