Lagos Approves 17,279 Building Permits in 10 Months

The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) approved a total of 17,279 building permits between June 2025 and March 2026, as announced by Dr. Abiodun Olumide during a press briefing marking the third year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's second term. During this period, LASPPPA received 21,603 permit applications, granting approvals for 11,701 applications from June to December 2025 and an additional 5,578 applications from January to March 2026.

The authority also implemented a 60-day amnesty program from October 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, which resulted in 7,198 permit submissions and 4,113 approvals. This initiative significantly improved compliance with physical planning regulations and encouraged property owners to regularize their developments.

Furthermore, Governor Sanwo-Olu launched an electronic physical planning permit process system to modernize and simplify the application process, enhancing transparency and efficiency while minimizing delays and misunderstandings associated with the permit process.
