Lagos Upgrades Takwa Bay Health Centre for Coastal Care

The Lagos State Government has inaugurated the upgraded Takwa Bay Primary Health Centre, located in the Iru Victoria Island Local Council Development Area. This project aims to strengthen access to quality healthcare for residents in coastal communities, reflecting the government's commitment to inclusive healthcare delivery.

Permanent Secretary of Health District III, Monsurat Adeleke, emphasized that the initiative is designed to bring critical medical services closer to remote areas. The project includes large-scale medical outreach programs that provide immediate care, including screenings for hypertension, diabetes, syphilis, hepatitis B, HIV, malaria, and dental services.

Adeleke identified poor health-seeking behavior among residents as a significant challenge and urged community members to take full advantage of the upgraded services. The Chairman of Iru Victoria Island Local Council Development Area, Aminat Alabi, noted that the project aligns with the administration's goal to improve residents' welfare through strategic infrastructure development.

The health center now features a 24-hour solar power system and staff quarters, enhancing service delivery in the area.
