Lagos Woman Remanded for Knife Attack on Daughter

A woman in Lagos has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre after being accused of assaulting her 15-year-old daughter with a knife. The incident occurred in the Ipaja area and was documented in a viral video that sparked public outrage.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (LSDVSA) confirmed the arrest and stated that the victim was rescued by the Child Protection Unit of the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, where she is currently receiving appropriate care and support services. The case has been transferred to the Family Support Unit of the Ipaja Division of the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation.

The woman was charged in court on April 30, 2026, at the Samuel Ilori Magistrate Court in Ogba, where she was remanded pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
