Outrage in Lagos as Woman Assaults 15-Year-Old Daughter

A viral video has emerged showing a woman, reportedly the mother of a 15-year-old girl, attacking her daughter in Lagos. The incident took place on April 29, 2023, at 32 Tashoro Street, near Ipaja, where the woman, dressed in a yellow shirt, was seen straddling the teenager and holding a knife above her.

Bystanders intervened during the assault, although the condition of the girl remains unclear. The video was shared on social media by a user who identified the girl as being mistreated and abused by her mother.

The incident has led to widespread outrage online, with users calling for the Nigeria Police Force and the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency to take urgent action. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has also been urged to intervene.

As of now, no official statement has been issued by the Lagos State authorities regarding the incident.
