Lai Mohammed Denies Claims of Hausa Insurgency as Fake News

Lai Mohammed, the former Minister of Information and Culture, has publicly refuted claims regarding a so-called "Hausa insurgency," describing the reports as fake news. The allegations, which circulated on social media, included a false quote attributed to him that purportedly raised alarms about the insurgency.

In a statement made available to journalists, Mohammed emphasized that he never made any comments regarding a Hausa insurgency during an interview on Splash FM 105.5 in Ibadan. He characterized the claims as a deliberate distortion of facts and urged the public to disregard the misleading reports.

Mohammed's statement highlighted the need to combat the spread of misinformation, which he described as a product of relentless agents of fake news aiming to create confusion and mislead the public.
