Lamido Wins PDP Governorship Ticket for 2027 Elections

Mustapha Sule Lamido has been declared the sole governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 elections, following a primary election held in Dutsinma, Jigawa State. The event was monitored by representatives from the PDP national headquarters and the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Lamido, the son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, expressed gratitude to party members for their support and confidence in his candidacy. He emphasized his commitment to rebuilding Jigawa State, addressing issues such as declining educational standards, healthcare struggles, and economic hardship.

Lamido outlined his action plan, which includes uniting the party, promoting economic growth, empowering youth, and reforming healthcare and social institutions. He called for unity among party members to achieve victory in the 2027 elections and pledged to manage resources responsibly for the benefit of all citizens.

The election results were announced by Isah Ahmad, the chairman of the electoral committee, confirming Lamido's candidacy as a consensus choice.
