PDP Names Mustapha Lamido as Jigawa Governorship Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has officially affirmed Mustapha Sule Lamido as its sole governorship candidate for the upcoming 2027 general elections in Jigawa State. Isah Ahmad, the chairman of the primary election committee, announced this decision, which follows a consensus within the party, in accordance with the party's constitution and relevant laws.

Ahmad emphasized that the election process would be conducted transparently, with the presence of security agencies and officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Lamido expressed gratitude for the party's support and outlined his commitment to running for a second term.

He promised to implement programs aimed at economic growth, youth empowerment, educational reform, and healthcare improvement. Lamido's campaign will focus on rebuilding the state and addressing the pressing economic hardships and challenges faced by its citizens, including declining educational standards and healthcare issues.
