Lamido Urges PDP Candidates for Issue-Based Campaigns

Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State and a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), called on party candidates to conduct issue-based campaigns in preparation for the 2027 general elections. During a gathering on Saturday in his hometown of Bamaina, Birnin Kudi Local Government, Lamido stressed that focusing on issues rather than personal attacks would help restore unity and foster development in Nigeria, especially given the serious challenges the country faces.

He identified key issues such as insecurity, education, the economy, and corruption that require urgent attention. Lamido's remarks were made during a visit from PDP governorship candidates from Gomb, Kano, Bauchi, and Yobe states.

Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a former minister of communication, commended Lamido for his fatherly role and commitment to truth, seeking his guidance to navigate the current political landscape.

Lamido emphasized the need for leaders to possess the courage to speak the truth, regardless of their status.
