Onyeka Fit for Selection Against Manchester City

At a press conference ahead of Coventry City's Premier League match against Manchester City, manager Frank Lampard announced that midfielder Frank Onyeka is available for selection. Onyeka had missed the previous two matches against Plymouth Argyle in the Carabao Cup and Hull City in the Premier League.

He played the full 90 minutes in Coventry's opening Premier League match, which ended in a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal. Lampard confirmed Onyeka's fitness, stating, “He is available for tomorrow.” Following Coventry's promotion to the Premier League, they were required to sign Onyeka on a permanent basis during the summer transfer window.

He had a significant impact during the latter part of the previous season, scoring once and providing one assist in 14 Championship appearances, contributing to Coventry's league championship. His goal against Derby County was nominated for Coventry City’s Goal of the Season award.

Onyeka's return is also beneficial for Nigeria's national team, as he is part of coach Eric Chelle's plans for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
