Lagos State Urges Property Owners to Settle 2025 Charges

The Lagos State Government has issued a directive for property owners to settle their land use charge debts for the year 2025, with enforcement actions set to commence shortly. This announcement was made by Adelek Quadri, the Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, in a statement released on Wednesday.

The government is encouraging property owners to take advantage of a 15% early payment discount if they settle their bills within the stipulated period. The Ministry highlighted that land use charges are a crucial revenue source for supporting the development and maintenance of public infrastructure, including roads, healthcare facilities, schools, and security systems.

Tajudeen Mahmud, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, stressed the importance of compliance with land use charges as a civic responsibility that directly supports the state's growth and development. The Lagos State Government, led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, remains committed to building a safe and resilient megacity through sustained investment in infrastructure.
