LASTMA Rescues Lagos Sanitation Worker Hit by Speeding Truck, Driver Apprehended

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) rescued a sanitation worker from the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) who was hit by a speeding truck along Offin Canal towards Eko Bridge. The truck, carrying heavy containers, struck the LAWMA worker, Mr.

Baba Ibeji, after suffering a brake system failure. The truck driver fled the scene, but LASTMA personnel successfully apprehended him with the assistance of the police.

The injured worker was rushed to a nearby hospital but refused admission due to severe injuries. The incident prompted an investigation by transport authorities to determine the cause of the crash and ensure accountability.
