LASTMA Rescues Mother and Son from Overturned Vehicle

On Wednesday, Olalekan Bakar Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, reported that a mother and her son were rescued from a wrecked Lexus SUV that overturned multiple times due to a loss of vehicular stability. The traffic mishap occurred at the NYSC Bus Stop corridor along the LASU-Isheri Expressway during peak hour traffic.

The Lexus SUV, with the registration number KJA 39 JT, was traveling inward Igando when it abruptly lost control and overturned thrice before coming to rest amid heavy vehicular movement. LASTMA operatives deployed in the area quickly mobilized to rescue the occupants, who suffered visible bruises and mild psychological trauma.

The Nigeria Police Force, attached to the Igando division, assisted in crowd control. Following the incident, the victims were conveyed for further medical evaluation.

LASTMA coordinated the evacuation of the accident vehicle with support from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, and the police will conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Bakar Oki urged motorists to observe prescribed speed limits and conduct routine mechanical checks, especially on critical safety components like brake systems.
