LASUSTECH Lecturers Demand August Salary Payment

Lecturers at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology protested on Friday regarding the non-payment of their August salaries. A group of teaching staff, who requested anonymity, accused the university's Vice-Chancellor, Prof Olumuyiwa Odusanya, of making a unilateral decision to withhold their salaries.

They claimed that this decision was made without consulting the Lagos State Government. The lecturers pointed out that their counterparts in other state-owned institutions, specifically Lagos State University and Lagos State University of Education, had received their salaries despite ongoing strikes by non-academic staff.

The protesting lecturers expressed frustration over the perceived unfair treatment, emphasizing that other universities managed to pay their workers' salaries during similar circumstances.
