Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy Opens 2026 Fellowship Applications

The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) has announced the opening of applications for its fully funded fellowship program for the 2026-2027 cohort. The Lagos State government, under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, disclosed this initiative designed to groom young professionals for leadership roles in public service and policy development.

Eligible applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged 25 to 35, possess at least two years of work experience, and hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree or higher national diploma, along with a valid NYSC certificate. The fellowship will combine practical work experience with leadership development sessions and community service.

Applications will be accepted from April 16 to May 16, 2026, through the academy's online portal. The program, which lasts for 12 months, aims to build a pipeline of young leaders in public service, providing participants with direct exposure to policymaking and public administration, addressing the competitive nature of Nigeria's labor market.
