Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal Wins Leadership Award in London

On Thursday, Dauda Lawal, the Governor of Zamfara State, was honored with the 2026 Face of Africa Leadership Award in London, recognizing him as the Outstanding Governor of the Year. The award ceremony took place at the Grand Hall of King’s College, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of Triangl International Magazine.

Sulaiman Idri, the spokesperson for the governor, highlighted Lawal's leadership achievements, particularly in service delivery since his inauguration on May 29, 2023. Despite facing challenges such as an empty treasury, Lawal has remained committed to his campaign promises to rescue and rebuild Zamfara State.

His administration has focused on educational reforms, including the swift payment of outstanding debts to WAEC and NECO, and the reconstruction of schools across 14 local government areas. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, and Kola Adesina, the Group Managing Director of Sahara Group.
