NASSCO Honors Gov. Lawal for Commitment to Governance

Governor Lawal was honored by the National Social Safety Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO) for his dedication to inclusive governance during an award presentation event held at the Transcorp Congress Hall in Abuja. He commended the federal government and the World Bank for their support in reforming Nigeria's social protection system, which aims to strengthen the nation's social register and improve service delivery.

Governor Lawal highlighted the critical role of social protection in addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, particularly in conflict-affected states like Zamfara, where insecurity has led to displacement and food insecurity. He stressed the need for coordinated, transparent, and data-driven social protection interventions to ensure assistance reaches those in need.

Lawal underscored the importance of local government engagement and valid data monitoring to enhance credibility and reduce duplication of efforts. Dr.

Funmi Olotu, the national coordinator of NASSCO, presented the award in recognition of the governor's commitment to social protection initiatives in the state.
