LAWMA Launches PSP Receipt Checks in Lagos Communities

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has commenced a door-to-door verification exercise to check Private Sector Participation (PSP) receipts in the Apapa Iganmu community. This initiative, announced by Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, aims to ensure compliance with waste management operations and tackle the issue of indiscriminate waste disposal.

Residents and businesses are required to present proof of payment to their assigned PSP operators. The exercise is designed to identify properties without valid waste collection arrangements and to address service gaps that contribute to illegal dumping and black spots in the area.

Gbadegesin emphasized the importance of regular PSP payments and proper waste storage practices ahead of an enforcement drive, urging residents and businesses within the Apapa Iganmu corridor to comply with these regulations to maintain a cleaner environment.
