Ugochinyere Praises PAP Reforms in Niger Delta Education

Ikenga Ugochinyere, the Member representing Ideato Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, commended Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), for broadening the programme's focus on education, skills development, and economic empowerment in the Niger Delta region. Ugochinyere noted that PAP has emphasized human capital development and sustainable livelihoods.

He highlighted the expansion of the PAP scholarship scheme, which increased in-country scholarship beneficiaries from 3,800 in the 2024/2025 academic session to 3,900 in 2025/2026, alongside approximately 200 foreign scholarship beneficiaries. Ugochinyere also praised the revival of training for 98 maritime cadets whose studies had been interrupted in Poland, Vietnam, and Sweden.

He acknowledged the programme's focus on dialogue and conflict prevention, including training for stakeholders in alternative dispute resolution and leadership. Ugochinyere urged Niger Delta stakeholders to support initiatives promoting peace, education, and economic opportunities in the region, while commending President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for their support for PAP.
