IYN Commends Tinubu, Ribadu for PAP Scholarship Success

The Ijaw Youth Network (IYN) praised President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu for the unprecedented scholarship deployments of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) under Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro.

In a statement signed by IYN President Frank Ebikabo and Secretary Federal Ebiaridor, the group urged Otuaro to maintain his focus despite detractors. Since assuming office in March 2024, Otuaro has awarded scholarships to over 9,000 Niger Deltans for studies in Nigerian universities and 273 overseas, marking a significant expansion of educational opportunities.

The IYN noted the programme's success, with over 50 first-class and 40 second-class upper divisions achieved in the past two academic years. Additionally, Otuaro facilitated the training of various cadets in aviation and maritime sectors, enhancing the region's peace-building efforts.

The IYN emphasized the timely payment of delegates' stipends and expressed gratitude to Tinubu and Ribadu for their support, asserting that the future of the Niger Delta is becoming brighter under Otuaro's leadership.
